• Is Colon Hydrotherapy safe?

Absolutely. In fact, with the modern colon hydrotherapy equipment, treatment is safer than the common enema. The system is gravity-fed, providing gentle infusion of purified water which can be turned off at any time so that the client can get used to the process at his/her own pace. The client also controls the amount of water that enters the colon as it can be released at any time.

  • Does the treatment hurt?

Sometimes, when the peristaltic action is stimulated by the water and the colon starts releasing large amounts of waste, we can experience light cramping (very much like during a regular bowel movement). Most of the time it is gentle and relaxing experience.

  • Are colonics habit-forming?

No. The purpose of cleansing the colon is to release accumulated waste and promote better peristalsis. We accomplish this by introducing the water into the colon which in turn stimulates the muscles so they become stronger.

  • Does colon cleansing get rid of the good bacteria?

Accumulation of waste and toxins in the colon provides un-favorable environment for the good bacteria. Cleansing the colon allows the beneficial bacteria to thrive by removing disease-causing toxins and old, encrusted waste.
To assist your body with this process you will be offered a probiotic drink after your session.

  • Is the treatment hygienic?

The rectal tubes used for colonic treatment are sterile and disposable. They are opened and assembled in front of the client. The colon hydrotherapy unit is thoroughly disinfected with special bacteria and viruses-killing disinfectant. The water used for the treatment flows through carbon filter and UV sterilizer.

  • How many sessions will I need?

The number of treatments varies with each individual and depends on general health, diet and regularity of the bowel movements. Usually it takes several sessions to sufficiently soften and loosen the waste inside the colon. As a general guidance; for people wanting to detox it is advisable to have a series of 3 colonics, for people suffering from constipation 6 or more sessions.

  • How long is the treatment?

For the 1st session please allow about 1h15min, every other session should take around 1h. The actual time on the colonic unit is around 45min.

  • How do I prepare for a colon hydrotherapy session?

Refrain from having large meals for 2 hours before your scheduled appointment as you may feel uncomfortable with a full stomach. You can have some fruit (water-rich fruit like watermelon is recommended) and drink water or fresh juice to loosen the contents of the colon.

It is advisable to include lots of fruit, freshly squeezed juices and fresh vegetables in your diet for a few days before your session. Be careful though to avoid gas-forming foods like beans, lentils, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage (or anything else that causes excess gas) for 24 hours before your colonic.

Most importantly – relax! This is a gentle and simple process, not a medical procedure. The more relaxed and open-minded you remain, the better results you’ll have.

It is best to wear a 2-piece garment as you’ll be asked to undress from the waist down.

  • How will I feel after the session?

As we are all individual, some people feel energized, light and clear-headed right after the first session. For most of us that feeling comes about 24h later.

Since the cleansing stimulates the release of toxins from your colon and also from your liver, pancreas, lymphatic system and tissue, your body may react to this sudden release with fatigue and feeling “spaced-out”. This depends on the toxicity levels in your body your diet, long-term medication, and also productivity of your session (the more you release, the stronger the reaction) and will go away after couple of hours.

You should be able to resume your daily activities right after colon hydrotherapy session.
